About
Pétur Sakari (b. 1992) is a Finnish-born organist and improviser with strong Icelandic roots and a distinctive Nordic artistic identity. He is internationally recognized for his mastery of the French organ tradition, exceptional improvisation skills, and a repertoire that spans from early music to contemporary works and world premieres. Sakari made his solo debuts at iconic venues such as Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris under the invitation of Olivier Latry, and at Turku Music Festival upon the invitation of conductor Klaus Mäkelä, quickly establishing an international profile. He also released notable solo recordings and signed a solo recording contract with BIS Records at the age of 21. Combining Nordic clarity with French elegance, he is emerging as one of the most compelling organists of his generation, bringing a bold, personal voice to cathedrals and concert halls across Europe and beyond.
